Hello Everyone!
Hope you are doing good! I am having such a wonderful experience! Yesterday(Day 1) we screened 62 patients and scheduled their surgeries. It was very hot and all screen took place outside. The temperature is 90 degrees and hotter at times. Everyone is so nice!
Today (Day 2) I got to experience my first cleft lip surgery observation in the OR. WOW! Amazing! These doctors, anesthesiologists, nurses, dentists and other helpers are fabulous! They do wonderful work! We did 5 operations today! I was able to help a little of everyone and had a great time. Althought most of my work is done in a large tent, it still is a wonderful experience. I colored and played some of our classroom music with them! Mrs.Styn and Mrs.Blease's class, the kids really liked the ABC and NUMBER ROCK, Where is Thumbkin, and If Your Happy and You know it!!!!
The food here is different but good!
A little spicy. Different kinds of rice is with most every meal. They also have a spicy tomato like sauce that they serve as a side with every meal. For breakfast I have been having bread, fruit (pineapple, mango, papaya), hotdog (this sounds weird but it is a good source of protein :) egg and fresh fruit juice. Lunch and Dinner consist of the same type things...a couple of rice dishes, fried or baked chicken pieces and fish, often a noodle dish with meat or veggies, and ALWAYS a dessert :)
This has been AMAZING so far!!! Can't wait to share more pics with you! PEACE and LOVE to all! AMBER
